Ordering Restrictions?

Has anyone heard of orders being restricted? I had a sales person email me saying Wrangler orderes were on restriction.

It's common for specific options to be restricted. Wranglers themselves? Not so much.

A lot of us had orders on hold for a few months due to our 4.88 gear option but it seems they found the pallet of 4.88 gears behind the factory today and moved our orders through today.

But Jeep doesn't sell cars? Could be he's trying to move you into an in-stock Wrangler.

I'm guessing that was the case. They refuse to move off MSRP and I told him I'd travel to get a better price at invoice or under.

I assume you're talking about the spreadsheet in my sig. Quite a bit under invoice.

Most people don't know that there are significantly cheaper alternatives. And lots of people can't wait for a custom order.

I paid MSRP for my first JLUR without realizing you could buy them cheaper. I was even active on these forums, but hadn't seen the specific threads.

When I first reached out to order mine I was told that Unlimited orders were restricted. To quote my rep at the dealer: "They do not tell us why the restrictions are in place, usually it is due to a supply chain issue. They can last anywhere from a few days to weeks. "

No use in haggling, save your energy. Simply just don't give them your business.

Go with a tried & true dealer who consistently offers sub-invoice pricing.

Thats probably horse crap but maybe FCA doesn't. When I did sales at a GM dealer we were always told what was on restriction.

That's exactly what I'm doing. I'd much rather spend $600 on a plane flight and the adventure of a road trip.

Dealers will hold the line on some vehicles and discount others, depending upon their inventory. Here, look at the nice little Renegade, it'll do almost what that big one will do and I can give you a really great deal. Not to mention, the 50 we have on hand provides a great selection!
