Looking forward to the install this week, but probably won't be able to open it for a bit. Colder today (48 degrees) from yesterday 60's +, then I saw 20's for lows last week, but they are up the high 30's now so maybe it will get some use. There is also rain forecasted so It will get a water proof test right away.

Suggest you install, then immediately/now.... Apply fabric guard to the Sunrider before you start running with it...

Treat with this 303 product right away! :
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JG3OHVK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

--------------
Below is a re-post of similar info I posted a while back

Two different Bestop reps ... that have been with Bestop for many years, when I talked to them.... both recommended this 303 product for cleaning the Bestop Sunrider for Hardtop (or a convertible top) instead of the Bestop offering.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0185PU376/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They both, also recommended I periodically treat my SR (or a soft top) with this 303 product...
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JG3OHVK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I myself did take their advice! .... and use both products.

In regard to the 303 Fabric guard:
NO, you do not wipe it on the Sunrider. Read the directions on the bottle. Don't saturate as multiple light coats are best.

Supposedly, it is best applied in the full Sun and with outside temperature of 70 degrees or higher.
You need to let the fabric guard dry for 12-24 hrs.

this is good information! I just pickup a soft top from another member and was getting ready to buy some fabric guard from chemical guys. I love their stuff they have but I have been using 303 for all my plastics and interior guard for my seats... I tried your link and good ol Crapufornia wont let me ship in the damn 303 fabric guard. I loath not being able to get products.. Thanks again though. going to try to find a work around to get the good stuff

I have one and I love it.

During installation follow the instructions to the letter.
There was a moment when having someone to hold the other end would have been useful!

Thanks for the hint, photo and reply. I watched the install video before ordering and the only difficult thing I saw was the "Z" hook and the passing of the top to the other side from outside. Did you try slipping it through the door and on the roof and then setting the rails down? I hope to have help, but sometimes I don't like to wait for it.

Thanks for the info. During the time I owned my soft top I didn't apply anything to the fabric and it looked as good the day I traded it in as the day I bought it. I guess I owned it for just a little over a year.

I don't very often have a garage (except for transporting it) and have always had a cover that gets put on religiously. Most of the time I ride my motorcycle and the Jeep sits with the cover on all week. When it's time to do errands and such the cover comes off until the end of the day and then back on.

It's supposed to be over 70 on Friday and I hope my daughter will allow me to let it sit in her garage overnight to allow the treatment to dry. If it comes today I'll probably wait till then to install.

Thanks to everyone for the comments and suggestions. I hope to record the install, but maybe before and after pictures will be the only things that get posted.

It got dark before I could really get started with the install. Finished it in about 30 minutes as listed. Hardest part was the "Z" clip as expected. Everything else went fine. Had a young tall person available to help and I think it made it easier than what I had planned if there was no help. Couldn't have done it in the garage for sure.

Can't tell if it's any more noisy than the panels yet, didn't open it on the ride home. Will wait for the sunshine tomorrow.

No photos yet.

Of course it's going to be a little more noisy than the hard tops, but you will love it. I've had the Sunrider on two previous JK's and my previous JL which I transferred to my present JL.

Jeep Wrangler JL Ordered my Sunrider top yesterday!! 20230310_102339
Finally some sunshine. Top's open, even though it was 36 this morning. The orange cover was in my 2019 and I kept it. Have to figure out how to get it tight again. Adding the Sunrider took some mounting locations away.

....if you ever decide that your sunshade is getting in the way of opening and closing your Sunrider from within the vehicle, and that's a feature you want...

I don't think it will be a problem. Last night I closed it from inside while sitting at a traffic light. Opening may be as easy as unlatching and allowing the wind to open it. Probably won't do that on purpose though.

There is a place near Tulsa, OK. that makes all kinds of retractable screens, I'm sure they could build one for this type of use. Now all I have to do is remember the name so I can reach out.
