So @eightydeucemike placed an order on 12/29 and is in JS stage. This is what he said he ordered "Just ordered a 4dr Sport S with tech, convenience and premium soft top for the wife’s 30th bday. Hope it’s here by March!"
I am happy for you eightydeucemike, but SERIOUSLY???? I am about to explode on Jeep. Calling my dealer. Some of us deserve an explanation.

Sorry, not sure if I understand this. So what would this mean for us last week of Oct/First week of Nov orders that are still still still in D?
It would put production of the vehicle in January, if delayed, possibly middle or end of Jan. 2 months later. The early special allocation orders seem to be moving along.

Right but even the PDI (pre-delivery inspection) guy hasn't seen it. I trust my dealer, his wife works for me and I don't think he's holding out.
Truthfully, I'm not sure what advantage I as his salesman would have by "holding out" delivery of his Jeep to him. I have walked our entire complex, his Jeep is NOT here. You showed it being in Oklahoma a few days ago, which does not follow the normal process for Jeeps coming from Toledo. They go through Louisville then to Nashville and then to our railyard in Memphis. Then they are loaded onto a transport out to our lot.

I tried this man, and got nothing earlier today. D status for 35 days, Jeep will tell you it can stay in D for 30 days before moving....im at 35 (while you and others are well beyond 35) and the only explanation I can get is call back later next week and there should be movement....thats what I was told 2 weeks ago. Bottom line is that solid answers are nearly impossible to get, if Jeep has a delay, or a line problem, or an issue doing soft tops from the factory...they wont tell us that level of information. I asked the lady yesterday to explain to me that if all my parts are available why isnt it being built when orders placed a month after me are already nearly completed. She got an attitude and told me she has nothing to do with that....well no crap I understand that, but you are Jeep customer service, if you cannot help me with an answer...who the heck can?

I can get better answers from a best buy geek squad weenie about my POS $200 laptop than I can a Jeep expert customer service rep about my $50k vehicle.

So what the hold ups amount to is the type of JL we ordered? Or are there other factors at play?

The only thing I can tell you all is this. The Allocations are for production 2 months away. IE, Jan allocation is for March production. I know some of you ordered in Oct and Nov early. But, if there was an issue with installing the soft tops or they were delayed as someone else said, it would put that production about right time wise.
Dealer Guy, is there such a thing as placing a "Hot Order"? My wife insist our dealer put in Hot Order, I told her there is no such thing but she swears the dealer showed her the order screen and it said "Hot Order" on it. Not that that has helped us at all if it does exist as I am still in D status. Just curious.

Has nothing to do with type of JL or options for some of us. Those who ordered hard top auto or dual top have seen others who ordered much later get the same build move on. Appears to just be a huge fail on Jeeps part (unless someone else has another reasonable explanation)

I mentioned somewhere that most are coming in on a different carrier than normal. Perhaps they tried delivering outside of your normal delivery time and it was refused. We normally take delivery through the week and pretty early. Had several come in on Saturday and only accepted them as we knew what they were.

I just went to my dealer's website and searched by VIN and my vehicle is showing as "in transit". I'm thinking they might have put it in as a dealer order/allocation. Customer Care chat just told me an ETA of Jan 12th, but expressed skepticism. that's when i thought to check my dealer's site by VIN. My name may not be on the window sticker, but I'm OK with that.

no real thing. They can "hot code" a normal delivery once the vehicle arrives at the delivery train yard, but that only moves it along to the dealership a bit faster.
