Well they do have number, test methodology and are serious about it.
I guess it is one more variable to keep in mind when reviewing oil analysis.

None... but it pays well.

Yep! I discovered 89 burns better in the mountains and in summer heat. Usually is the Bob's The Oil Guy mentality that nay says most of the time.

Most all fuels are clean, but ethanol is prone to contamination. It's mostly on how your engine burns fuel. At Idle and cruising does not burn fuel well. In short finding a fuel that allows ecu to place a better timing curve for burn, will help keep engine cleaner.

I did a test with a cleaning oil, but overlooked fuel as an issue. Not saying my choice skewed the results, just saying regular oil changes will still accumulate deposits from today's oils and modern engines.

The deposites only come from fuel burn and air filtration. That simple!

We don't even get 89 here in Colorado so 85, 87, and 91, are it. I wish we had 89 but apparently, 87 acts just like 89 at altitude.

Actually this is not about octane, this is all about additive in the fuel. He do provide example for EMEA where they have two type of 89 one contain additional additive and the other does not.
So just like the additive package in oil there is also additive package in fuel and this influence engine wear according to the video.

This is why, I add a bottle of Chevron Techron, every 3000 miles, which Chevron recommends. I am adding it today, since my gas tank is getting low. The next gas fill up after this one, I will be changing my engine oil. This is what I believe in, but everybody to their own.. :)

Do you perform Oil analysis ? If so, did you check if there is any difference with and without the additional fuel additive you are using on the oil analysis result ?

No, I have not had it analyzed. But what I do know is, a good friend of mine, Has been in the BOB IS THE OIL GUY Forum, for almost day one. He has over 40K posts in that Forum, needless to say, he has a very depth knowledge of oil. His advice is to use the fuel additive, and then change the engine oil once that the additive tank has been used up and then refilled. So this has worked very well for me on several vehicles.
I have never had a engine failure, caused from the engine oil.
