Do you mind me asking what flashlight mount you’re using on the side of your seat? Thanks.
A Quadratec one…

The flashlight in the picture is a Coast from Home Depot (the handle is too small for the mount, but the bulb area fits perfectly and securely). I recently switched to a Maglite 2-Cell D LED Flashlight that fits perfectly, but I think I enjoy the Coast light better. The Maglite shines farther when adjusted properly, but when adjusting the spread it has a horrible dark center. It is also big and heavy and is much harder to use underneath the vehicle for repairs as opposed to the Coast. The Coast puts out a higher quality light in my opinion and will be equipping it in the Jeep again.

Here’s the Coast:

Here’s the Maglite I opted for:

Thank you for all of this. I appreciate it. I had a setup like that in my JK, but I just used a couple of broom handle clips from Home Depot. I’d like to get something nicer like this for my JL (in order). I used a Rigid Industries rechargeable flashlight for years, but I know Coast and will likely go that route. Thank you for all of this info; I appreciate it. (It’s a bummer they don’t make one for smaller lights, as most lights are going to these days. I wonder if I could add some rubber strips of some sort to make the diameter of the opening smaller? I’m guess your Coast light was just barely sitting in there).

No problem!

The Coast light fits perfectly snug on the bulb side but basically hangs there off that one clip. But even after rough off-roading it remains in place.

So I just reinstalled my Coast light into the Quadratec flashlight holder after months of the slightly larger MagLite was in there and now the Coast light doesn’t fit. Shucks!
