Can anyone recommend a solution to the missing original end caps? They interfered and had to come off when my fenders got installed. I’ll eventually replace the bumper, but I’d like to clean this look up in the meantime.

Shari,
The aftermarket is focused at replacing the factory bumpers. So, a solution is very likely going to have to be either replacing the plastic bumper with aftermarket or fabricating a custom solution.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I thought I might be missing an easy solution. Thanks!

Ah, that DOES look better! And it’s not like anyone is going to want my plastic bumper once I eventually replace it. Thank you for the suggestion, and especially the picture!

Yeah, my OEM plastic rear bumper is pretty smashed up from dropping off steps on trails. Last trail smashed the muffler tailpipe almost flat too.

Nobody seems to want these plastics after they're removed anyway. Even if they've come off after low-to-no mileage. I would suggest that you do as the previous response suggested and trim it. If you don't like how it turns out or you made a mistake, buy someone's takeoff for 25-50 bucks.

Thank you for that link. I suspect I will need this, but I will probably reserve judgment until I eventually replace the bumper and see how much of it is exposed.

Yeah there are a lot of "full width" bumpers that have a wrap around corner. Some even are intended to match up with the OEM fender. Some much smaller than that.

Before my factory steel rear bumper had a chance to damage the body, I ditched it for the aftermarket. I ended up with the Cavfab Ultra High Clearance bumper, which is strong enough to protect the body from upward hits. It's of a minimalist design, so it also increased the departure angle.

I swapped out the factory trash can muffler for a Borla Touring Climber cat-back, so the exhaust now exits on the drivers side and is flush with the bottom of the frame rail.

I also added the Metalcloak skid plate for the trailer plugs.

I cut that flange off flush. Made a filler panel to cover the open end from mud kicked up off the tires. And put the fishbone body armor piece on. I'll take another picture after work...

Would you mind providing any details as to how you made that panel?

Also, did you remove that entire bracket that the tab sticks off of or just that tab?

Thanks!!
