In anticipation to the door bumpers starting to fail on my Mopar tube doors, I figured I'd try to find some replacements. Lo and behold, can't find them anywhere, so i decided to figure find a solution myself. I googled, found some good ideas and results from other users, but I didn't really like how it wasn't totally silent, doors still rattled just a tab because there was no cushion from the replacement bumpers I made following instructions from various forums.
Now i bring my solution to the table so others can another option.
I headed out to Lowes and picked up some M6 screws with allen caps. I ended up buying multiple lengths as I didn't have the oem ones with me, then from amazon I ordered me a can of dippable plastidip.
Took the screw head, and dipped it, let it dry, dip it again, let it dry, rinse and repeat until its coated enough that it has some give but no enough. Ended up with the perfect door bumper for these doors.
Tried them out today as i put my doors on and they are exactly what I needed, no rattles and theya re holding up perfectly fine so far, even after slamming the doors a few times just to see if they would give.
