Let’s see how well pictures give a “how-to”. Yes, you have to grind the heads off the screws. Also, yes I know when you’re spending $1200, you shouldn’t have to do this. I already own them though.

Thanks for the "write-up"; I may have to try this on my cheap eBay tube doors. Do you have any details on the rubber bumpers?
Also, all-thread might be cheaper/ easier than screws.

I got the rubber stoppers at Lowe’s. They are located in the “specialty drawers” in the hardware section underneath the hanging screws/nuts etc. They happened to be out of the size I wanted, except for four loose ones laying in the drawer that the Lowe’s guy just gave me since he couldn’t sell them. They come two to a bag I think. I believe the drawer said something like Rubber Stoppers.

Mopar tube doors - the official Jeep one’s.
You do know mopar doors and most of the parts are made overseas right? just like Chevrolet most of all the parts are made in Mexico and they ship them over here and assemble everything. Working for American airlines for 34 years I ran into the lady one day on my lunch break I've been there for it and she was flying to Mexico. I said what on business and she said yes going to check on the factories she work for General Motors. then she told me how all the parts that were made in Mexico shipped over here they all do it she said and that was proof we know but that was proof and she told me she was checking on the factories not to mention most of the parts they made in Mexico anyway

I bookmarked your thread, but mine came with rubber stoppers that seem to work good after they are adjusted. Did yours fail?

Check out the new options we have! Pretty excited about the mirrors and skins.

I got the mirrors that came with the doors. They're almost identical to factory mirrors I just had problem with rubber stoppers hitting they hit too high too many adjustments to make to get the door to go down we can't get the garage door to go down in the back so the stoppers yet above the door frame so yes I'm having problems with it they say there should be a problem but you have to come out with an updated rubber stopper last year because the ones that were selling didn't work. but motor City sells their doors with no rubber stoppers that when you install them and hang them in the hooks they fit perfect they locked before they hit that sounds way to make them. And I'm driving at a red light using voice text so I can't use periods and commas and misspelled word check because I'm driving but hopefully you'll get what I'm saying

Yeah i understand. Mine needed adjustment as it's part of the install, but I think they are really nice.
If my rubber pads ever ware out or fall off, i book marked this.

They look pretty close to the same doors would not surprise me if the same people make them

The didn’t really fail but the screw didn’t thread out far enough for them to be as effective as they needed to be. I did also have one of the rubber stoppers grind down on the end, so I guess it effectively failed. So, the stopper/screw combo i used allows for greater length and contact, making the connection solid and quiet.

Awesome, I had the opposite issue on the right rear where I had to shorten the post to get the full two clicks.

Thanks for posting this. I picked up the same doors (used), one of the bolts was missing and the other had gnarled up threads. I went a different method, but used the same sized screws. Found these little “screw protectors” in the same bin as the rubber stoppers

I need to look at mine before I throw them on this season. Those look like a good solution.
