I saw that. We attempted to take my mother-in-law to Lake Tahoe yesterday morning. While we were headed up we could see the huge smoke cloud. We ended up stopping at Apple Hill for a little while to get an update on the situation and decided to take some backroads back home to stay out of the evacuation traffic. It's not looking to good for our plans to attempt the Rubicon in September. We will be hoping for rain in Cali for everyone's sake.

Yep. My sister had to evacuate and is staying with my other sister. Praying for the evacuees and the firefighters, as that's all we can do.

9 forests closed and the Rubicon closed. But it looks like the order will be lifted on the 6th though. Might be able to run it after the closure. Some buddies wanted to run it at the end of September but we might wait till next year. Again.

This is just horrible first the Dixie and now this! Even with the massive commitment to the Dixie they can't seem to grow the containment, over a month later and still at 35%. This doesn't bode well for the Caldor fire.

I was in South Lake Tahoe yesterday at the old Angora burn area. The smoke is horrible. If you can be somewhere else, you do want to be.
