Interesting fact. Those words, "Danger, will Robinson", were actually never uttered on the show but have been used commonly by many, including myself.

Sadly these days I get asked "Who's Will Robinson and why is he in danger"...
It actually was said, but only once in about 3 or 4 seasons. It seemed to have caught on fast.

Parts break. Sometimes when they're brand new. That's literally why there's a warranty.
Absolutely however the LED headlights are not exactly inexpensive parts. Also pretty complex compared to old filament style bulbs which don't require additional electronics to prevent issues such as flicker. Also are they covered for sure under the 3 year warranty or because technically they are 'bulbs' are they considered a consumable item and therefore not covered under warranty.

That's a great point, but in this case (days after delivery) any good dealership will get this replaced for him.

I cant imagine why they wouldn't replace an LED within the first 3yrs/36k miles because LEDs are supposed to have thousands of hours in their life.

I could easily see them balking after 6 months to a year. At some point it becomes a bulb, a life limited part. I don't disagree with your line of thinking, but I imagine FCA would.

I didn’t even look close enough to see if the LED itself is serviceable or not. After they checked mine, they said something was wrong within the assembly itself, so they just ordered a complete replacement.
To be honest, it was acting more like a ballast going bad, but I have no idea what parts of the “assembly” are potentially “serviceable” parts that might be individually replaceable in the future.

Other than the obvious lacking "convenience" features such as auto hi-beams and especially rain sensing wipers, my biggest concern is a safety one.
I took delivery of my JLUR on Tuesday and discovered my drivers side (LED) headlight was flickering. By the time I got to the dealership Tuesday afternoon, it was completely out, but they told me to bring it back Wed afternoon. Well, Wed morning it was working again, then started flickering, then worked perfectly by the time I got to the dealership. Regardless, we knew there was an issue, so I left it with them and they said the headlight is bad so they ordered a replacement that will be here next week. Rather than drive the POS they gave me for a loaner, I picked the Jeep back up and the light has been completely out since then. (Maybe they've got it disconnected knowing that it was bad?)
Now that the back-story is out of the way, my concern is that I have not gotten a single warning of the light being out. Not when it was flickering or out before I took it to the dealership, and not since it's been out since I picked it back up.
That's pretty concerning that I can headlight completely inoperable yet not get any type of warning/code telling me I've got a light out.
Does anyone else have the LED lighting package that's had issues with their lights, specifically the headlights, and have you gotten any kind of warning light telling you that it's inoperable?
I am thoroughly glad the jl doesn't have all this unneeded crap. All your so called safety features do is lull people into a false sense of security and inattentive driving. Once a week do a preride inspection.
