Newbie lighting question

Newbie Alert, someone gave me a pair of these lights that were taken off another Jeep. Everything I see with lighting has two wires, this one has three. What is the third wire for? How do I know which wire is which?

I would try to find a vendor or part number and look that up. I'm used to red (power), black (ground)....not sure what the 3rd one is....maybe there's 2 sets of lights to control?

Hmm,
I would look for a brand name on them and go to their website and look for instructions. If that is a strike out then I would get a 9V battery and my guess would be the green is ground and try the other wires one at a time on the positive and see what happens. My guess is one of the wires is for a backlight and the other is the lights.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately there are no markings, manufacturer, or part numbers on the casings.
