Hi All!
Thanks in advance for any advice.
2020 Jeep Wrangler JL owner.
Installed new steering wheel/harness/paddle shifters

Currently running Tazer mini that was upgraged from the Tazer Lite
Paddle shifters are working as expected but my radio controls (buttons on rear of steering wheel) are not operating properly.

Volume up button (rear wheel rt top button)makes volume go down
Song skip buttons (rear wheel top/bottom button) does nothing
If I press rear wheel rt top and bottom button at same time the volume goes up
If i press rear wheel top and bottom button at the same time: song track will advance
In a nut shell, the rear buttons seem to be transmitting data but not as they should.

Tazer is running newest firmware
I do have a PacAudio AP4-CH41 (R.2) for after market amplifiers if that matters

I've checked the new steering wheel electrical harness countless times
If I have to pull this wheel off again, I'm going to scream....

Any troubleshooting ideas?
Any advice or thoughts are welcome.
Thanks so much for any help.

I'd inspect the pins in the connector(s) for the switches.

Isn’t there a setting in the Tazer to reprogram what the steering wheel buttons do? May want to double check that before going into wire chase mode.

Agree. I double checked all the connections. Still no success. This one ‘s got me stumped. I’m leaning towards some sort of programming bug., but I could be wrong.

I didn’t think you could program the rear steering wheel buttons but I’ll have to look into that. Thanks for the reply.

Their instructions are a mess, but after reading through it I cannot see anything about reprogramming the backside buttons. Bummer, was hoping it'd be an easier fix for you.

I was sort of missing the paddle shifters from my Subaru when I first got the Jeep, but now it's no big deal to use the shifter in manual position. Yes I have to take one hand off the wheel, but had to do that with the manual transmission all the time anyway, so what's the difference?

I didn't think you could. So, I went to the Tazer website and read all the features and didn't see this anywhere so don't think it's possible.

I was hopeful because those buttons are a waste to me. I'd like to repurpose them.

Took apart wheel and check all connections once again. Everything looks solid.

I unmarried the tazer and put old wheel and harness back on just for the hell of it and radio controls work great.

from what i can gather I'm dealing with these possible problems....
-a possible software glitch
-a possible paddle shifter harness problem

I'm about ready to just install the new wheel with the old wheel's electrical harness and just ditch the paddle shifter mod.

The properly functioning radio controls mean more to me than the paddle shifters at this point.
Frustrating.

I wonder if I got a bad paddle shifter harness or
A bad paddle shifter/radio buttons

Considering both side rear radio buttons are not operating properly, I'd assume its a software glitch.

This is just silly at this point....
FML....

Finally got it working.
I replaced the phone button module on the wheel and everything started working.
No idea how or if that’s what did the trick, but we’re good to go now!

At least the end result was a success...
Just for the record, it appears the problem was related to a faulty phone button module in the wheel and not the Tazer or wiring harness.

What do you think of the new wheel!
