I am now the proud owner of a Firecracker Red JLU Sahara — I couldn’t be happier. But admittedly, I’m a bit of a newb when it comes to modding.

Can I get thoughts whether this combo will work (will it all fit? Will it look good? Will it allow for moderate wheeling?)

These 17” rims: https://www.morris4x4center.com/kmc...olt-pattern-4-51-backspacing-satin-black.html

BFG KO2 315/70R17

Rock Country 2.5” Spacer lift

Some concepts I don’t really understand well are backspacing on the new wheels; whether the new wheel/tire needs a spare relocation kit, and whether this combo will allow the backup camera to still work.

FYI I love these forums and I appreciate everyone’s advice in advance!

It should work just fine. As far as looking good that is in the eye of the beholder. I like the wide squaty look. I am running 20x12’s on a Sahara with 37’s and a 2.5” rock krawler lift.

The offset on the wheel you listed is -6mm, so with a 315mm wide tire (basically 12.5") you could experience some rub due to the Sport and Sahara axles being narrower than the Rubicon axles. If you do, a good set of spacers would fix it, but keep in mind they will push the wheel/tire combo out 1 5/8" - 1 3/4". The tire, 315/70R17 (aka 34.4x12.4x17) will fit the wheel with no issues, and since BFG usually comes in under reported size, you may be ok there.
As for the lift, I know there are Rough Country fan boys out there aplenty, but the fact is that the materials are not as good and there is no solution for caster adjustment or axle centering in that kit. This will absolutely effect ride quality and alignment geometry. As long as you understand that going in, its your call.
Finally, you will need a spare relocate bracket and you will see some of the lip of the wheel in the frame when the camera is in use, but it will work.

I had my 2.5” RC Boost put in by Tankcustoms here in Houston and @TTEChris did a super job and went thru my options and for what I would be doing the RC boost fit the bill then I added some Method 312 17x9 wheels with a -12 backspace and some 315’s, also had the RC spare tire relocator put on and the ride is vevry nice, I don’t know anything about suspension stuff so I left it up to someone that does.

I currently have about 4K miles on my tires and when they were checked when going to different TPMS sensors the local shop said my tires were wearing very evenly, I had been running them at 35# but since then I have dropped down to approx 30# and the ride is smoother

I am sure there are more expensive kits/components out there but what I went with suits my needs

Looks awesome. Just curious, what lug nuts did you use. I am getting the same wheels (Method 312 17x9) and am looking for black lug nuts with spline locks.

I don’t have the paper work handy but I’m pretty sure they are Gorilla spline locking lugs
