I'm getting ready to add some lighting to my rig and could use some feedback on what I would like to do.
I have always made sure to be off the trails before dark because I am not confident in the stock lighting and my old eyes. I would like to be prepared for night driving on trails. I want to be able to see and identify obstacles in front of my and watch out for potential ditches. That said, I have looked around and have some ideas.

For my bumper, I would like to add @BajaDesigns LP6 Pro lights LP6 Pro lights. I have an OEM steel bumper with factory Warn winch and Mopar Triple Hoop grille guard. Using the mounting holes on either side of the winch, I think I should have room for the lights, but want to make sure. My other concern is accessing the clutch lever and potential heat generated from the lights.

I would also like to add lights at the base of my A pillars. I am debating between the @BajaDesigns LP4 Pro and Squadron 2.0 Pro. I like that the squadron comes with the hardware needed to mount to the cowl, and the smaller form factor. For the LP4, I like the brighter lights (but could this be a problem?), the integrated peripheral lights, and the compatibility with the Reflex Light Actuator. If I go with Lp4, what do I need to do to mount it to the cowl? Are there other factors I should be considering for my A-pillar lights?

My plan is to wire the bumper LP6 high beam to Aux 2 and low beam to Aux 4 with the amber day-time running light wired to stock running lights. I plan to wire the A-pillar lights to Aux 3.

Pie in the sky, I would also like to install Reflex Light Actuators to all of the lights. I don't particularly like the idea of running a toggle switch through the firewall, then not having a clean place to put the switch. Would it be possible to set up the actuators to use the rear door window toggles when those switches are in lockout mode? My thought is that when the windows are in lockout, those switches can move the lights without affecting the windows, then when not in lockout mode, the windows can be controlled without moving the lights. Is this even possible?

I have had to replace my windshield twice in 2 years. Do I need to worry about damage to my lights from daily driving?

I am looking for a similar solution. I had Lifeforce on my JK which were great because they were indestructible but they were large and noisy from wind. Looking for something more aerodynamic and bright to fit on the triple Mopar hoop.

I used Diode Dynamics lights. They have cowl/a pillar brackets for sale on their site (it's down right now).

I have the LP4's on my front bumper and I think it's plenty of light by themselves. I'd recommend getting those first then deciding if you need more light. The LP6's would be good for high speed stuff to get light further down the trail but seriously the LP4's have been all we needed. I would recommend not putting the LP4's on the pillars because you will get a lot of reflection off the hood etc. I know they offer a block off plate to stop some of that but honestly I think they are overkill for the pillars. I also upgraded my fogs to the squadrons and they are great.

Honestly if you’re mainly worried about damage from daily driving (rocks, road debris, etc), an easy solution is just running covers during the daytime.

We make snap-fit covers for the entire VEGA lineup , VEGA 2 all the way up through VEGA 7, and they pop on/off in literally a few seconds. Makes it super easy to protect the lenses when you’re not actively using the lights.

How much does the angle of the A-pillar lights affect hood glare? Looking to light up the side of the road/trail with those lights.
