My kids got me a Hooke Road rear cargo rack, for Christmas. Went to test fit it today, and unfortunately it will not work with my XG Cargo Gamma bags. That said, I am now looking for something that will work with the cargo bags (as I really like them and want to keep them). I do have a few absolute requirements that the shelf/rack would need to meet:
1. Must work with the XG Cargo bags
2. Must have enough room, underneath, to easily stow a Yeti cooler and Yeti bucket. I coach my son’s baseball team and getting the bucket in and out, easily, is an absolute necessity.
3. Must not rattle.

I have found a few that I think might work, and am hoping for some input from those of you who might have them:
1. Hooke Road Interior Cargo Shelf (a little unsure about this, as it only has 18ā€ of space underneath).
2. Expedition Gear Cargo Shelf (I really like this; however, I cannot find definitive info on the underneath space…but, pics make it appear as though it is >18ā€).
3. American Adventure Lab JLU M.A.S.S. Cargo Shelf (looks really nice…but, pricey).
4. XG Cargo Platform A (looks really nice & is designed to work with the bags…but, the most pricey of all the options).

Wish I could get the XG to see if it would work with my setup but return it if it doesn’t. I have the Gama bags too. That or they show more angles/pics to show the different height adjustments and the view from the back door with the seats folded down. I do have a fridge but it’s dual zone and not sure if the back lid would clear.

That thing is pricey though isn’t it.

My vote goes for American Adventure Labs. It works with the XG cargo bags and a large Yeti cooler fits underneath. Height is adjustable if you need to make adjustments for your set up. No rattles at all.

I have the expedition gear shelf and it works great with my gamma bags. Adjustable height also. I run a homemade shelf box with a fridge on top with a slide. No clearance issues.

Thanks for the reply @3TV. I really like the looks and thoughtfulness of the AAL shelf &and its design. I am just struggling to wrap my head around the price tag.

@RicRecon do you happen to have any pics of your setup? Do you also happen to know the space you have underneath your Expedition Cargo shelf? I cannot find info on how much space it has below it.

Thought I did. I’ll get a photo and measurements for you tomorrow.

I searched and spent way too much time looking but then finally pulled trigger on AAL one. Save yourself the headache and cry once..

I have the Hooke Road SOT interior shelf and am generally very happy with it. It's heavy duty and doesn't rattle. I cut a piece of rubber mat to fit the inside so things that I put in/on it don't slide, rattle or scratch it.

It does only have about 17.5" underneath but I can remove it in less than 5 minutes if needed, just have to be careful when maneuvering it out so that the mounting brackets don't ding anything up. I put a bucket underneath and then jam a folded up moving blanket on top to support it as I remove the screws that go into the roll bar. To put it back in just set it on the bucket/blanket and reinstall the screws.
