I'll have to take photos and post, but does anyone else have gap issues with their JL? I know it's wrangler, but at $50K thought some of the pieces would fit better. So far with 2K miles on odometer 4 months of ownership (JLU Rubicon) - have:

- front hood vent on driver's side has gap between plastic vent and hood
- plastic gas cover / door now has gap between body and gas cover / door - can see one of the holes in body
- the plastic fairing on passenger side by window has a gap between body and fairing, much larger and noticeable than driver side
- plastic part in the grab handle on passenger side gap

I'm going to ask about these issues when I do first oil change, not annoying enough to deal with now but as a whole pretty crazy how many things don't fit well stock / out of the factory. I've been happy with the JLU otherwise and moded a lot already but still...

It's not a "$50,000 vehicle" -- it's a $28,000 vehicle with $22,000 worth of options added on.
See the difference?

Do you think they put extra care into assembly the more options you add on? That a $55,000 Sahara fully-optioned out is going to have better build quality than a $28,000 no-options bare bone Sport, just because the final tallied-up price is higher, even though they both roll off the exact same assembly line?

Truth: Build Quality is determined by the base (cheapest) model, not the most-highly optioned model.

Hi jeepmikey,

We are sorry to hear that you have these concerns with your JL. If you would like an additional layer of support while your Jeep is in service, please feel free to send us a private message before going to the dealer.

I know other people have real issues - I.E. weld recalls etc, but today I was driving and now my passenger side front speaker is rattling. I know the theory of a $29-30K car base with options will have the build of a $29-30K car regardless of final price tag but with 2.2K miles on the odometer and the JLUR spending most of it's time in a garage it's disheartening how poorly manufactured or at least assembled this Rubicon is.

This is my 4th Wrangler, 3rd Rubicon in 9 years and this is by far the worst quality.

I have a rattle coming from my passenger front right side. How did you determine it’s from the speaker? Mine occurres only during acceleration....

The rattle happens when certain notes hit when music is playing - that's how I've pinpointed the rattle. Also, if sitting in passenger side parked with music playing it happens.

Other than the 5-10 issues listed, she looks good otherwise from 10 feet away :(

The rattle could be something loose or a vibration, but more likely it’s a speaker that’s blown or going out.

Agree. To be clear, the comfort is leaps and bounds above any Wrangler I've owned. I'm not referring to a worse ride (although the loose steering is annoying), I'm talking about the actual build quality. My 2005 Rubicon never had any gaps, blown speakers, and quite frankly I think even the paint job was better.
