Looking for opinions or if anyone has photos.
I am debating on painting the trim rings on my XR wheels either the rubicon red or sting gray to match the factory paint. Has anyone done this to their Jeep and have photos? Not sure if the red would be too loud with the Sting gray paint.
I do like the red, did you think of doing sting gray rings instead of the red at all? I haven't seen anyone do that yet. That regal red is pretty close, maybe a shade bit brighter. I remeber reading the red is another mopar color or something that is like flame red or something.![]()

I used Rustoleum Regal Red. The wheels are AEV Borahs.
With the skittle jeeps the body color matching just sets off the rims like no other in my opinion. Powder coating is definitely an option over paint, I just figured paint would be easier to fix if it ever got rash on it. Not sure how the sting gray would look with the rings though.Powder coated. Zero regret. Love them![]()
Just need to add some white and it will be america themed. I do dig the red, its a good break up color.![]()
Powdercoated, helps to break up the blue when the hard top and doors are on.

Seeing that, I think the red is a better call, it is almost too subtle and you can barely tell they are colored. ?The rings
were originally AEVs Onyx color.
Then they git scratched.

Never heard of that so I had to look it up, looks like it is a rubber band that goes around the edge, could be cool if you wanted to do an accent color, to be honest thing would of been great on my ex's car since she had no clue how to park near a sidewalk. I am just looking at the trim ring since I already have them, it would be a simple pop off, scuff, paint, and put back on same day if I did it early enough. It is really why I am contemplating it, cheap mod that adds style and gives me something to do. ?How about some rim savers made by rimbladesusa?
I've been contemplating putting some of these(red) on our white jlu willys moab wheels.
To hard to paint...they sell vinyl that will last years...don't forget pictures....do well.Looking for opinions or if anyone has photos.

Why do you say they would be too hard to paint? Seems pretty easy since you can remove the beauty ring from the rim.To hard to paint...they sell vinyl that will last years...don't forget pictures....do well.
Right, the XR package comes with beadlock capable 35" inch tires. I will definitely post when I get around to it, I need to finish a few things first and order the paint.Oh.....my Willys 32" wheel's don't have a ring......then all systems go....I have done alot of paint and vinyl and sometimes going off color of the body paint seems to make for a better accent...I love doing this stuff....pictures when your done if you can...thanks...
