Mopar Satin Black Grill

I upgraded. Very easy install and the trim pieces were also easy.

so I ordered the trim pieces from @Quadratec and got them today but they didn’t come with any clips. I saved a bunch of the old clips from the previous Grille piece but not sure if I have everything I need since my old one was just a sport.

does anyone have a video installing the 3 trim pieces or something that would help?

There is no clip on it. it is a snap on.

okay bc I’m finding some conflicting reports.

on a mopar site it said you need 7 clips and 2 push plugs... and then quadratec shows that clips are separate and you need 11.

thats my confusion on it. But the 3rd coat of paint is drying so I’ll find out when I install tomorrow.

I recently put in an order for a 2021 Rubicon with the Mopar grill. I assume it will come with the body color trim. Has anyone ordered a new Rubicon with the Mopar grill installed?

Sorry for reviving this thread. I have a Rubicon with an OEM gloss black grill. I liked it until the Recon and Willys went that route.

So, now I'm sanding and painting an extra Rubicon grill satin black. Question: the Mopar grill seems to have darker richer looking satin black grill and headlight inserts vs the OEM Rubicon ones which seem more of a dark charcoal gray. Can anybody confirm if it's the same color or they are, in fact, different? Pic is of my OEM gloss black BTW...

It's a very nice grill, I had one on my JK, looks like the price for the JL version is a lot more expensive, I cannot remember paying this much for the one I bought for the JK, I have been considering this since I bought my JL.

Correct, the stock Rubicon inserts are gray whereas the ones that come with the satin grill are black.

Does anyone have any pictures of this satin black grill on a Granite Crystal JL?

It's been awhile since you asked and I'm sure you've seen one by now but here is mine. I had to buy the molding kit and have it painted to complete the look. Jeep is nasty because I just got back from a road trip. It's not a HUGE difference but I like it.

What is used to protect the grill from the elements / sun and fading? Im assuming wax cannot be used due to the matte or satin finish.

It can be waxed. I use the same polish/sealant that I use on the rest of my vehicle.

painted it - Mopar Satin Black Grille

That looks awesome…and the most proper way to do it…not sure why when you order the Satin grill on a Sport or the 2022 Willys it Comes All black…they use the ONE piece Black .
How were you able to get a can of Mopar Spray paint in your Color??

Did you have any issues swapping out your Old Sport plastic bumper for Rubicon Steel Bumper? Simple swap with No Mods?? Your Jeep looks awesome!! Any side images you can post please. Thank you advance.
