Got a crack in the front diff cover on my performance axle and the dealer couldn't find the part to order a new one they tried one but it wasn't correct. Its a 20 JL Rubicon with 4.88 in the axle any ideas on the part number? They got one but there was a notch difference
They service manager says it is a Spicer axle that is discontinued and no cover?
The dealer is recommending a new axle but that is a little excessive for a cover even for Stellantis anyone know of an after market cover?

that is a pretty funky looking pumpkin. terrible design for sure on the cover. is it leaking from the crack.

Not what you are asking for but that design seems flawed.

I know I'd destroy that drain plug all the time. Have you considered getting a better diff cover instead?
Actually any aftermarket cover would be ok it was the 'performance' axle from Mopar - it was part of a warranty the front locker sensor died - after the dealer had installed the 4.88 gears so it was cheaper to order the perf axle with the gears installed and so I got the better axle

No leaks right now - but I am worried about the next Moab trip and hitting another rock - could be a lot more of a problem if it dumps the oil on the trail

did some web image search and seems this cover has been designed a few different ways. here is a forum link to the original axle part coming out with part numbers. looking at current design, i would say your model was redesigned due to that drain plug being all exposed front and center like that. terrible design. the other ones like it have ribbing on both sides of that plug or no plug at all. i really like the dana covers but if that is the way it's designed i would not run that cover at all. good luck on a replacement and hope the link helps out.

if its not leaking, but definitely looks like it will, and you really want or need to keep it i would find a diff skid plate that could be mounted with that cover and protect that area as much as possible.

I wonder if a person could grind the drain plug portion flat and just weld it. most covers don't have drain plugs now anyway.

looks like it will be hard to find a replacement as the shape is pretty odd.

This is the axle - and I was able to find one that looks like it might be the correct - without the break away drain plug - its hard to tell need to get a better pic - I dont think the dealer would go to danaaftermarket.com to get a part

What is the warranty for Jeep replacement parts?

Ok, so I think I found the answer, it's still covered under standard manufacture warranty or 24 months, 24k miles, whichever is longer, but it just dawned on me that this isn't something warranty would cover anyway.

Yes no warranty I have found an email at Dana and sent pics and created a email parts support case and will see what they say - the replacement part in my previous post isn't correct the notch to the right of the drain plug looking at the pic has an extra bolt - so will see what they say
