MOPARs are back down to $50 on Amazon, but they now offer a cheaper (non-MOPAR) alternative. Doesn't seem like the place to save money, especially since the Ecodiesel is fussy about seating properly.

ONE PROBLEM: The Amazon does-this-fit tool says the MOPAR won't fit my JLURD, but the knockoff will. Curiously, the MOPAR is the same unit that I've previously used (I just clicked on "reorder" from my order history).

MOPAR ($50): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B..._title_dp_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3KQI776IVRETC

Alternative ($29): https://www.amazon.com/Assembly-685...jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

The cheap versions I’ve seen have “cheap” bypass valves . I have a few I will not use

Not to Necro-Bump in old thread, but I've always wanted to try one of those reusable diesel oil filters. The Hubb ones are by far the prettiest in my opinion, though they are 8" oil filters. And I'm not sure what the threading on them is seeing as to this one is made for a Cummins diesel.

I kind of feel like if the threading matches, it might be a viable option. But so I understand engine oil pressure is VERY important on these diesels, so having an 8-in oil filter versus the much shorter Mopar oil filter might make them not compatible.

Does anyone know if this is something that would be doable, adding an 8-in reusable oil filter (if I can get the threading right), or if there are other options on the market that anyone knows about when it comes to reusable oil filters that will function well on the 3.0 EcoDiesel???
