Here's an opinion, not a question.
I think that Stellantis should, on factory orders at least, provide for the ability for non hard top purchasers to option (for a reasonable fee of course) this wiring/etc. such that if they wish to adopt a hard top down the line of their ownership, the infrastructure's already in place to simply put the top on like a Dual Top owning customer.
I think this a win win. Adding this harness after the fact is challenging, and best left to installation at the factory, where like the towing harness, installation can occur before parts that cover the wiring and its components are fitted on.
It could be a revenue source for Stellantis, taking advantage of those contemplating hard top ownership down the line, but not willing to spend the money for a hard or dual top option at purchase, and factoring in all costs to the owner, including the time and frustration of retrofit installation, worth the price of having this installed by the factory prior to vehicle purchase.
Sure, you could dual option top your order and sell the hard top, and maybe Stellantis' bean counters have figured that such an option might find them losing out on too many hard top sales, but the reason sellers offer multiple price point options is to make less profitable sales over losing out on too expensive sales all together.
