So I have a 2018 rubicon jlu with a 2.5 aev spacer lift I just bought the rc 3.5 lift with reservoir shocks and started putting it in. I cannot find my stock coil isolators but would it be bad idea to go to a budget 6 inch lift? I got the rc lift with new driveshaft and adjustable control arms would this work and be fine? Do I keep the shock extender brackets on for the extra 2.5 inches?

Uh…no. Wouldn’t go with Rough Country personally and definitely wouldn’t go with a 6” lift, nothing you own is capable of handling a 6 inch lift. The springs won’t work, the shocks won’t work, the end links won’t work, the new driveshaft won’t work, the steering components probably won’t work, and the stock rear driveshaft won’t work. Hope this helps.

That's about what I figured, I'll have to call some of the off-road shops today see if they have any or if the jeep dealer has any in stock. Went with Rough country was the most inclusive I could find for my budget, only bad I have heard really only regarded the shocks themselves and was hit or miss. but if I got to swap to fox shocks next year wouldn't be mad about it disappointed but not mad.

I wouldn't go 6" even for 40s. We run 3.5" metalcloak springs with 39s. There's no reason to run that much lift unless you're into 42"+ tires which means 1 run axles and everything else being upgraded too.

My only thought on it one I’m short don’t wanna jump to get in. Two compensate for the added weight of the front bumper winch rear bumper and 37 inch spare. With all that 3.5 easily becomes 2.5

Depends on the quality of the 3.5" lift. Most companies account for some added build weight. Both the wife's JLUR and my JT run metalcloak 3.5" springs and even with the winch, full skids, and 39 hanging off the back they are still at 3.5-4" over stock height.
