Any recommendations for reliable auto body shops that can consult and build out mods for you on your jeep in Washington State? I live in the Seattle area.

Unless your vehicle was in an accident, why are you looking for an auto body shop? For mods, etc., I suggest a competent shop that specializes in 4x4 vehicles.

While I can't help you with a recommendation, as I do not live in WA state, an auto body shop is a shop that specializes in exactly that - auto body repair (dents, paint, etc.). A step above this (at least here in NY), is a collision repair shop that performs auto body repair as well as things like frame repairs, etc. Both can repair damage if a vehicle was in an accident, but a collision shop usually does more heavy duty type work.

For the work you are looking to have done, as mentioned above, you want a 4x4 specialty shop. There are shops that deal with all types of 4x4 vehicles and others that specialize in Jeeps only. I'm sure others here can make a specific recommendation to one in WA state for you.

Two that I've personally have had good experiences with are Northridge 4x4 in Silverdale and Total Off Road & More (formerly 4 Wheel Parts) in Tacoma. Both are chain stores. There are other 4x4 shops in the area but I don't have personal experience with them.

N4x4 is always busy and expect to take at least a month to get an appointment. TOR&M is relatively new name (originally a small shop in the Southeast) and it's not very busy.

I use Khaotik 4x4 near Puyallup. They installed my lift, slides, skids, and a ton of other stuff. They also do maintenance if I need it. They do great work.

I use Northridge4x4. They are great to work with and lucky for me only 5mi away. As mentioned, they are always booked. Both times I have had stuff done, my appt was 2 months out.

Another idea is if you see someone with a modded Jeep, ask them if they did it themselves or have a shop they could recommend. Nice to find a shop that knows Jeeps.

I used Auburn Car Repair & Offroad a few small jobs. They did a decent job. I also hear good reviews from MULE Expedition Outfitters. But they are usually very booked.

Reviews on 4-Wheel Parts stores are a mixed bag. Some appear to be great, but we’ve seen some horror stories too. I guess it depends on the particular store.

I’d connect with the local jeep and 4x4 clubs And ask for recommendations. The best shops in Oregon aren’t franchise operations.

They do absolutely fantastic work. They have done sor far...

3.5" Teaflex lift with control arm drop brackets
Falcon 3.3 quick adjust shocks
37" Mickey Thompason Baja Boss ATs around Method Racing Bead Grip 705 wheels.
Teraflex alpha HD tire carrier
Kraken system
CROW molle system.

In November I go back up for...
4.88 gears
Metal Cloak under cloak skid plates
Teraflex Delta brake system
Baja Design LP9Pros
SPod switch system
Potentially the teraflex HD steering if I can fit it into my budge.

Will have them do some other stuff I have been too lazy to do (e.g. install my rock lights)

Again, they do amazing work there and are super cool guys.

I have several of their products installed myself... the Kraken inflation system, the Pressure Upgrade Kit, and the CROW. Met them at Overland Expo PNW this year. Yep cool guys.

I use Northridge4x4 for major work if I don’t want to do it. They happen to be 5mi away from me in Silverdale WA! Also cool guys!
