Dealer got the mirror back on. You need a special tool and the mirror needs to be put on sideways and then twisted. James at Zeigler Dodge in Downers Grove is the man!!!! So is their service manager Erick!!!![]()
Got the Radar detector installed. I tapped into the ground and Ignition hot wires but did it from the bottom harness that connects into the harness I have pictures up a few posts that has the wires labeled. You just have to line it up and you will know what wires are what on the bottom harness.
Everything is working great! I used the wires under the glovebox for the dash cam, you can read about that in another thread.
If anyone has any questions fire away! Just be careful with the mirror when putting the cover back on and you will be good to go! If you do take the mirror off, the dealer can fix it easily.
Wish I had a good answer for you, I honestly don’t know what that 4th wire is for, maybe someone else can chime in. And I don’t remember if there is a whole there or not.Does the grey connector have an open hole for a constant on to match the black connector?
Notice that the black have 4 wires but the grey only have 3 wires in.
Hey Duke I’m just realizing it’s the mount that came with it! I guess when I first got it I was thinking of getting a blendmount. It works perfect though. Do you already have the detector; it’s an uniden R3.Thanks @usmcss if you see something on it cool, if not no biggie. I was looking for a blendmount but they do not make one for the new JL mirror, this looks like a good universal option.
