Took the Jeep on the Georgia BOH trail on Monday. Got out almost unscathed, but smashed the passenger mirror when we took a bypass around a tree that fell, blocking the trail, and slid sideways into the large rootball of the tree.

Ordered the mirror, but when I took the old one off, there is a plastic bock inside the door that acts as a spacer for the three bolts that hold the mirror. That plastic block is also smashed (seems like it did its job), so I need to replace it, but I can't find it on any parts list.
where is the best place to look for obscure parts like that?

Hit up Benny @AllMoparParts.com. I think he can find just about anything that is available.

Thanks. Checked it out and still can't find it. The part is inside the door, but I can't imagine that I would have to replace the door for this.

Here is a picture of it:

Your answer may be in the picture, to the right of "RH" there appears to be a part number. I can't read it from the pic but it looks like a Chrysler part number starting with a 6 and ending with an AD? You may be able to google that number and buy the part.

Looks like 68283280AD…..but it’s not pulling up anything.

That is indeed a MoPar part number though.

Not unusual for things to have a part number and not be available for purchase individually. Maybe Benny can chime in.

Worst case, I'm pretty sure Atlanta has a salvage yard or two. You might be able to call to see if they have any JLs and just pull the part. Or maybe epoxy it.

Pretty sure that plastic pieces job is only to prevent crushing the door skins together when you tighten the mirror. As long as it stays in place just run it.

I'm looking at the parts diagram and service manual for a '23 Gladiator and an image of a mirror on eBay. I know it's not a '21 Wrangler but aren't the parts the same, or at least similar? Are you sure that part is not part of the mirror assembly? The part in the image below doesn't look quite like what you posted but it seems to serve the same function. Did you get your new mirror yet?

Hmm, maybe it is part of the assembly. When I took the mirror off, that part was stuck to the inside door panel, and then fell down inside the door (Had to take the door off and flip it upside down to get it out). That's why I thought it was separate.

The new assembly is being delivered Monday, so I will report back.

I deleted my post. Looking closer at the photo from eBay, the piece shown was threaded, not a spacer. There is no spacer shown in the parts diagram or the service manual for a '23 but the bolts shown for the mirror look long enough to go through one. Hopefully the mirror will come with what you need.

Went back and looked at it again with the old mirror - I don't think it is part of the assembly because I don't think you would be able to get it in the hole in the door if it were attached to the mirror.

we'll see.

Ok, got the new mirror on with the epoxy-repaired spacer (Which was not part of the mirror assembly). Unfortunately, I didn't realize two of the bolts were bent, so now I need to get those.
