I am pretty new to jeeps and off roading. So when i needed to be able to air down and back up i was looking for a affordable and easy way to do this. As well as store it somewhere it stays clean as we mostly go to the dunes out here.

The solution i came up with was the Milwaukee m18 inflator with a quick connect adaptor.

In the handful of times i have gone out and had to air back up, this thing is a beast. I keep up with most of my friends that have on board air. Granted no one has any of the fancy setups where you can do all 4 at the same time, but those are a different animal.

I also was able to figure out that the inflator will fit inside the packout compact toolbox. You have to lay it on its side but works well. You can also fit a m18 battery but you just have to place it in the battery cavity just not actually locked into place

I have also 3d printed a base for it so it will lock onto the top of the packout box. Keeps it out of the sand and dirt.

Just thought i would share, if anyone finds this useful!

There is a lot of "discussion" (aka arguments) that these battery powered units are too slow when airing up larger tires (ie: 35s and up).

Out of curiosity, are you airing up one tire at a time?
How much are you adding (5 psi? 10 psi?)?
Have you timed how long it takes per tire/per trip to air back up?

I have 2 systems - a 12-volt mini-compressor that connects to the battery that is probably a medium speed/high-pressure, and a Ryobi 18-volt similar to your Milwaukee. It's more convenient as it has a digital display where you set the PSI and let it do its thing. But it does seem to be slower than the mini-compressor.

I am running 35’s ko2’s and i have been airing down to 12 psi at the dunes. I use a 8amp battery and it takes just about 3 1/2 min per tire once the compressor starts. So not bad. And with a fully charged battery i can do all 4 but i so carry an extra battery just in case. Thats also airing up to 37 psi.

Not bad for a portable. Prices for that seem to be +/- $175. I have an older twin cylinder Viair. They have a new smaller one with a nearly 2CFM rating for about a $100.

You've assembled a nice setup! Have you posted the 3D print files for the base anywhere?
Edit: There's a 3D section on the forum here:

that is definitely a good option. The nice thing i like about the Milwaukee one is that it has presets for psi, so i can walk away and not have to worry about it over inflation. I also like it as it can have preset psi set, so its nice for my wife to use to air up our other cars tires. Just nice to have around the house to.
