Does anyone have the Midland MXT275 GMRS radio with the Midland micromobile antenna (stubby one)? I've read (and seen) good reviews of this setup on the interwebs. I'm not impressed with the range. I'm only getting about 2 miles in varying terrain. I also have Wouxun KG935 handheld. To me it receives and transmits better at 5.5w than the Midland does at 15w. To me it has to be the antenna

I think if you are using the stubby antenna that came with it, your range will be limited. I added the 6db taller antenna...no real range test done yet but was able to pickup a conversation that was closer to 10 mile range based on the location mentioned.

I get about 2-3 miles with the stubby. The taller one gets me a little bit more range. The whole issue is this is a low wattage radio.
