Mid width bumpers

Looking for some options on a mid width bumper. I have a JCR mid on my JK and love its looks and see JCR has a similar for JLs. Wouldnt mind going the same route again with my eventual JL, just looking for some options. All Ive been able to find are full width and grill width stubbies.
PS: Whats up with Ace bumpers? They used to make some quality stuff for $5-600, now its all $1500 and up. Crikey

Heyyyy I just answered this for myself today after looking at about 14,000,001 pictures and reading about 3000 reviews and weeks of agonizing trying to do research.

I think I landed on the LOD mid width with bull bar. The reasons are: doesn't look gaudy, has bull bar, integrates factory fogs, solid reviews as far as construction and durability, winch capable but looks good without (doesn't have a giant hole where the winch should go. I personally don't want a winch at the moment), has an available front license plate bracket, and lastly total package comes in around 1k with the skid plate as well so not absurdly priced.

I was thinking of doing the stubby version but my wife likes the mid width better. So if it gets her on board I can be good with it too haha!

Yeah, Ive seen that one too. Its on my list and seems like our requirements are pretty much the same. Dont want something too gaudy, sunken winch mount would be nice for my application.

I went with the Next Venture Series new bumper that used the factory fogs and can be purchased with or without a bull bar. Great customer service.

I just installed Quadratec QRC stubby this past weekend. It is more like a mid-width. Very thick and well built. Also, I added the Quadratec skid plate with it and a Badland 12000lb synthetic winch that I got with coupon code for $509. I am happy with how it turned out.

Honestly if this bumper had a winch block off plate for those of us that don't want a winch this would be my choice hands down. It's a great looking bumper at a decent price but you're kinda stuck doing a winch with it.

It would be easy to pick up a rectangle piece of sheet metal to cover the opening. You could drill 4 holes, paint it, and then cover the opening. It is flat on top and would be very easy to do.

is that just a shadow on the bull bar or is it indented at the curve?

I saw that in the picture after I posted it. It is definitely a shadow and NOT a dent. I would have returned it if it came with a dent. Good catch because I noticed that in the picture as well.

I have the RockHard bumper, RockHard 4x4, on my current JLUR & had it on my previous JKU. Uses the OEM fog lights. You can get it in aluminum or steel. Can have lowered winch mount or not. On the JKU I had the basic bumper & added a winch later. If you ever plan to tow the Jeep behind an RV you can add the tow bar brackets to the bumper which eliminates needing to put a base plate on the Jeep. A little pricey but RockHard makes quality products.
