Metalcloak vs Barnes skids

It sounds like you made the right choice. Just curious, do you know what the finish is on the Barnes skid plates? One thing to consider is that the Metalcloak skids have the gold zink coating that inhibits rust. Mine have been badly scratched and gouged, and even after that they do not rust. If Barnes only paints or powder coats their skids you are going to be fighting rust once the skid plates are used.

The Barnes ones are shipped bare metal - not even painted. That weighed into my decision too. Not that it's a big deal to rattle can them, and I don't live in the rust belt... But still
