Has anyone used these 2 together?

https://motobilt.com/products/jl-jk-tailgate-accessory-mount and https://dragojeepproducts.com/products/rotopax-mount-holder-bracket-for-mopar-tire-carrier

I will be moving Rusty's tire carrier from 4Xe to the 392, but that might not happen before my planned CO trip this summer. So, looking for a solution to carry MaxTrax and some extra fuel for the trip that works both with MOPAR reinforced tire carrier and Rusty's tire carrier (eventually when I move Rusty's over to 392).

Not interested in mounting anything on the spare itself like AAL STP or rachet strap. In case I need to replace the tire on a trail, I dont want to deal with anything that I need to take off from the tire itself.

I am open to other suggestions as well. Trail rax could be an option, but I would like to avoid that if I can. Not installing a roof rack at this point

I used that Drago Rotopax mount on my 392, both with the Mopar reinforced tire mount and with a CavFab tire mount. It is way way way overpriced for what it is. It tended to loosen even with thread locker and would wobble around too much. Maximum tire size it is compatible with is a 37" tire. When I changed to 40s, I threw it in the trash. I now use a Sea Sucker rotopax mount attached to the side window of my Jeep. The Sea Sucker mount looks like a crazy way to carry spare fuel, but it does work. On last years running of the Rubicon Trail, I laid my Jeep into a giant rock that bent and scuffed up my aftermarket aluminum fender flare and bent the rear quarter panel while also leaving significant scuff marks on my Rotopax fuel container. But surprisingly the window did not break, and the Sea Sucker mount was not dislodged. I think I just got lucky on that one because it sure felt like a hard hit when my Jeep leaned into that rock.

There is a separate thread on this forum titled "Worst Bang for the Buck Modification". I think the Drago mount would qualify for that thread. Not because of poor quality construction, but because of the extraordinarily high price and marginal functionality.

@3TV thank you. Interesting way to mount using that Sea Sucker. I will add that to my research list. Looks like 2 giant suction cups!!

I have been researching this and looks like could definitely be an option. the flip side is this is too easy to take off, and my entire fuel system goes with it.
