I am a newbie and had the side roll up to the 20-22% range a few times yesterday, the pucker factor was pretty high for me! I have a stock rubicon - i know there is no precise number but is there a general maximum amount of roll one shouldn’t go above?

YUP if you have any passengers/cargo load and everything is SECURED, then your PUCKER factor should start at 40 deg. and be alert for ANY ROCKS/BRANCH'S on the UP side and GO SLOW-

It's best to keep a lookout for an immediate "DOWNTURN" choice, if the ROLLOVER should start-

It's easy to SAVE, but only while traveling slow-

That's my story and I'm sticking toit

Appreciate it! It sounds like I still had a ways to go before it would tip. Funny how it feels for the first time!

Yeah, it's actually a little scary-EVERYTIME you get side hill'd--

Actually even though I've been doing it for decades I still have an INCLINOMETER with me for verification-

Not far from my house in Fernley, Nv there's a trail/w a side hill that goes from 20deg to more than 70deg and I have "PRACTICED" onit several times--

Again----be sure to secure any loose cargo stuff, because all it takes is a sudden cargo shift to :put you over the edge--

Like young kids that like to "MOVE AROUND"--

I did some wheeling this weekend and got mine up there, too. 20-25 isn't quite as insane as it feels on the inside. It's at 30 and higher where you really start to question some of the decisions you've made in life.

Ain't that the truth-

Many years ago, one of the RUBICON RANGERS, told me that when ever you're NEAR any trails 5 and above/w sidehills--you should ALWAYS BE IN 4WD/4LO, BECAUSE IN AN EMERGENCY YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GET YOUR XFER CASE TO CO-OPERATE !!-

If you know the area and are confident--just be careful-

How does this relate when you're lifted? I have a 3.5" lift so that means my COG is 3.5" higher. At the same slope (ex. 40') my Jeep is 3.5" taller which means more top-heavy. Does this put it past the tipping point? Should lifted Jeeps stay below 30' maybe? Any tips??
