I am working out some details as to how and where to mount my radio. An issue I have come across is possible interfence with the magnets on a mesh top. The magnets are supposed to be rare earth magnets (neodymium boride) along the windshield and I want to mount my radio right above my rear view mirror.

Q: Will these magnets near my radios mounting location effect the radio or the signal?

I do not have a mesh top yet, but I am looking into the Bestop, as well as the JTops, but am not opposed to the Spiderweb. The radio, also not yet purchased, will be a Yaesu FTM-300DR.

Are you mounting the entire radio up there, or just the control head?
Icom uses magnets to mount the control heads for their radios so in that retrospect it should be fine.
Just the control head. The plan for the body is to mount it overhead, but towards the sound bar.
