Would you guys be willing to help me get this top on my Jeep? Please reference this link:

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/genright-roll-cage-install.108967/

If you have someone I can work with to make it happen, that would be nice.

Thank you.
@chevymitchell Unfortunately we don't install other manufactures products on our products, so we wouldn't be able to help install the cage, I'm so sorry.
If its one of our soft tops that you're wanting help with installing, I would suggest looking up that top on our website, if it qualifies for home installation, you could purchase the home installation only option and a certified technician would come to your house to install the top.

You didn't read the thread.

The cage is fully installed already.

I just want to install your top on it. I don't need at home installation. Lol.

@chevymitchell That would make sense as to why I got confused lol I am so sorry for that! I went back and read through the thread, and watched the video. I'm impressed, that's a big project!
In all honesty, we don't really help folks install their tops unfortunately. The only time we really install tops is for Customer Service training or if we're doing a video/photo shoot and then obviously Quality installs them for test fitments. If you want to email me pictures of the final project so I can see what the cage looks like, completed, I'll see if I can make something happen, no guarantees, but it doesn't hurt to ask ;) [email protected]

Thanks Crystal.

What I'm really looking for is for someone to work with to understand how the top gets mounted. I'll make my own brackets for the cage to top integration. I just need a complete understanding of what is required for the top to attach and have it operate properly. I'd like to have this discussion before purchasing a top.

The cage is completed. Pictures of that are in the thread.

Thank you again.

@chevymitchell Thank you! I'll share this and see what kind of feedback I get. I'll let you know by Monday if that's ok?

@chevymitchell I just got off the phone with my Quality Team. I was not able to get anyone to help you with understanding how the top mounts unfortunately simply because our tops are designed to go on the Jeep as it is stock, when aftermarket products, like your cage, replace the stock roll bars, that's when modifications are needed and we cannot assist in modifying our tops to go on something they're not designed to. I wish we could help, I guess its a liability thing.

I was however able to get you somethings to think about before installing the top, I hope this helps.

Here are the things we discussed:
  • There are no holes in the cage where the factory holes would be on the stock roll bar, to allow the frame/hardware of a soft top to mount to, you would need to get the stock specs of where these holes need to go, in order for the Trektop hardware to mount where its suppose to
  • The crossbows that come with the top, might not sit correctly over the cage, causing the fitment and function of the top to be skewed
  • The windshield position, if the cage causes the windshield to sit further forward than stock, it may not allow the top to attach correctly

That would be awesome.
Thank you, kindly.
Each side uses support brackets "door surrounds" which on the factory "cage" attach using four bolts through the cage to a threaded insert on the door surround (effectively clamping the door surrounds to the cage). Then the door surrounds have threaded inserts to attach the 3 cross bars. Standard soft top stuff beyond that. There is a leg on the rear surround that extends from the cage height to the top of the tub immediately behind the passenger door.

I think what you'll need to devise is a way to use a clamping-esque component to accommodate for the change in location between the genright cage and the factory cage.

I’ll just get a top and make it work.

Thanks for the input man.

GenRight is already working on a kit for this top, but it won’t be done before I’m ready for it.

Hey man, save some blue paint, or gold might work too….….the only way to reach next level badassery is you have to paint these little vent things…? …..
