looking for help which fuse to use?

Does anyone know which fuse I can use under the hood for the running lights I installed in the grill? They have you use a fuse that lights them up on start up and they stay on, I would like them to come on when the headlights come on. Which fuse would I use on my 23 392? TIA

Gary,

Be careful when adding additional accessories to factory fuse/wiring. To do this correctly one should find out how many amps the factory wiring is rated for and how many additional amps your adding to it.

I use a kit or something similar (see link) this way I know the wiring is the correct amperage to handle the accessories I'm installing. It also makes it easier to troubleshoot should you have any future problems. Wiring, fuse, switch, relay - accessories.

I'm certainly not telling you or anyone else what to do with your jeep, just friendly advice. I've done this multiple times with flawless results.

A fuse tap at the PDC (Power Distribution Center, aka fuse box) won't allow control via the headlight switch. You need to add a relay and tap into the headlight wiring (preferably using a pigtail harness with factory connectors).

The lights came with a fuse tap I found the fuse that works. The running lights work with the headlights. Thanks for the suggestion

While we're on the subject of fuses, I read an article on Adventure Rider that there are crap blade fuses out there. As in off brand blade fuses that are marked and colored as 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 but are all 20 plus amp fuses. Buyer beware.
