Well, I feel like I have been kicked while I'm down. My 2020 Rubicon(125k miles) developed the dreaded lifter tick, and I put it off until it became a clatter. Lesson learned. Both intake cams, all lifters and rockers replaced. Picked it up from the dealer and it ran great, quiet as a mouse. I drove it around 500 miles in three days. 30 of the last miles in soft sand, 4high. I pay attention to gauges, no overheat. Camped for seven days on the beach, and when I got ready to leave it wouldn't start. Wouldn't turn over at all, good power and signal to starter. I got it towed in and the dealer replaced the starter. Cranked once, that's it. Engine would roll by hand 360° and stop. Found Coolant in oil, and in three cylinders. FML. After draining engine it turns free. Now #1 compression is low due to scoring. 14k for a long block replacement. Does that sound too high? How low compression is too low? I'll have numbers tomorrow.
Thanks.
Thanks.
