I placed an order for LOD Destroyer Series rock sliders for my 2025 JL- 2 door on March 4th... no indication at the time of purchase that they weren't in stock.
March 6th I get get an email with an invoice/order# and also states "out of stock" but in production line-up with 4 week ETA. Mildly annoying but I'm willing to wait a month.
April 8th I emailed asking for an update. Reply says "They are finishing up the second batch of the JL 2Dr Rocksliders and should be going to powdercoating next week. Usually about a week after they will be back and boxed up and shipped".
April 24th I emailed again for an update. Reply says "Just waiting for one part to come back from the powder coating. You are the first one on the list of orders when they do come back"
May 8th I called LOD customer service and was told my order was going into production, given a 3-4 week time frame. No explanation what happened.
June 2nd I called LOD again. Told not in production, likely another 3 weeks.
June 23rd I called again. Ended up on hold for a long time and just requested a callback.
Today (June 24th) I receive an email from the Customer Service Rep saying "I received conflicting information regarding the 2 Door Destroyer rock sliders and they are not in production at this time, and we do not know when they will be starting on them again."
I requested and received an immediate refund, but the LOD President/Owner (Chris Lueck) felt the need to add the description "90 day production-customer no longer wanted to wait".
That little comment is what triggered this post.
LOD never said anything about 90 day production time. I didn't actually count, but I'm pretty sure I'm outside that imaginary 90 day production time regardless.
LOD Offroad "Terms and Conditions" section says "orders will be processed in the order received", which is obviously not the case.
If the item you purchase is in "low demand" they just keep pushing it off the production queue and you may or may not ever receive it. They had my money the entire time.
I get it...they're a relatively small business that is clearly overwhelmed. All it would've taken to satisfy me was a little honesty. Seems to be a fairly recent theme with that company though, others have similar experiences as mine.
End of rant...
