Just wondering how many of you all have mud flaps on your cars? If so, do you have the OEM Kia ones? I have read that they help with snow building up in the wheel wells. What do you all think of that?

How hard is it to install the rear mud flaps? I found a video for the front, and they look really easy. Last, what did you all pay for them?

Would love to hear your thoughts. Are they worth it or not? I live in the midwest, so I do get quite a bit of snow. I'm just debating if it's worth to spend money on it or not, and whether it will truly help keep the building up down in my wheel wells.

Thanks much!

None on mine but regretted it the other day when I drove through some gumbo. The gap between the fender and oem type side steps provides an excellent chute for stacking mud on my side steps.

Did you drop this in the wrong fourm? "Cars" "OEM Kia"?

This is the Jeep JL Wrangler forum, not the Kia Optima forum :like:

No... no mud flaps on my JLUR.

I installed the Mopar mud flaps, front and rear, on my 2018JL. They keep road spray off the sides, rear window. This is especially good when driving through liquid manure from a leaking tank truck in Upstate NY...

Mud flaps are one of the most important additions. with the design of the wrangler with extended fender flairs and narrow body and often tires wider than the flares to me mud flaps are a must. Living in the NW with considerable rain and snow you really see all the is thrown onto the wrangler from the tires. when I installed flaps 90% was eliminated. In fact I just drove more than 100 miles of dirt and gravel roads and not a single rock thrown at the body by the tires, the mud flaps stopped all, I should also note that I have sliders that would catch some as well however I had the sliders before the flaps and they really did not catch much. There are a couple threads on here about rock chips from tires especially on the hinges

You need the right flaps though especially with 12.5" tires that stick out a couple inches.

The best I have seen are Rokblokz they have an extra wide version that Installed that 100% solved the issue for me. Additionally I only installed the fronts. These flaps are also easily removable for off road if you wish because if you are sliding off rocks no flaps are going to stay on.
They make a standard size and an XL (for 12.5" tires) front and rear are $169 front only $79 (again I only did the front). Install for the front is 30 minutes max 1st time. Rear I understand is 1-2 hours

Just cuz it's here... I did the RokBlokz flaps front and rear. Love them! Fronts went on first (really cut down on chipping of the rear door hinge) and the rears went on with the new rear bumper.

So here is the difference between the standard and the XL whereas TJ2018 is standard and mine (lightsout) are XL. You only need the XL if you have or plan for 12.5" tires or wider. Also if you have a lift as the XL are longer as well

I am so glad you posted these photos, I’ve been stuck on installing my rokblokz because I wasn’t sure how they’d look. Your jeep looks great!!
