I ran light pods on my last wrangler and am starting a new build on a 2025 Rubicon. I loved my light pods but am wondering general thoughts on brands, placement, etc.

I am thing of running dual pods right below the windshield. One set of floods and one set of spots that way I get decent coverage when running them at night.

What brands are you running?

Also I am seeing more amber lights than I used to, what are the advantages of Amber lights?

Last question. How about brands. I love Rigid Industries but am seeing lots of other brands pop up. I also saw Baja Design but know nothing about them other than $$$$$

I'm not a fan of forward facing cowl mounted lights due to hood reflection, but certainly your call.

Morimoto has made a big push and is getting good reviews. Would be a value option to review.

BD is pretty much the standard, KC is worth looking at.

New player, but less so in the pod game is Nacho, I decided to go with them on my truck.

Better for fog/ snow/ dust. Less Reflection.

I don't usually do this, but I actually took a chance on the Harbor Freight Roadshock Flood light pods w/ sidelight as fog lights, after reading a bunch of reviews. I've had them for about a month, they throw decent light, and I got the 2 year warranty. They were easy enough to splice into my factory harness so it uses the factory fog switch. So far, so good. Time will tell I guess.

Our products are engineered and tested for racing. Pricing all depends on what you're looking for. Doesn't take much to have a good setup. Our recommendation will always be to start small and build up. All Baja Designs lights come with a lifetime Warranty. A set of Squadron Sports for $249.95, including a set of lights, a harness, and a lifetime warranty, goes a long way. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know. You can always reach out directly.

The BD post above hit it on the head. I've got Squadron Sports on my A Pillar, Combo yellow lens, very happy with them.

This is incredibly reasonable considering so many folks usually recommend the $1000 Baja Design lights, you tend to forget they have really good entry level lights!

I have the Auxbeam cube lights in amber. I mounted them on my bumper facing forward. I've only ever used them twice. Once was driving through the hills in early morning dense fog and then again driving through Canyonlands at night in the fog and snow. They were very handy both times so no regrets in buying them.

Seems like no one has run Rigid industries? Any thoughts on them?

I like the idea of a lifetime warranty but rarely keep cars past 60k miles. So warranty isn’t a deal breaker. But I guess does the BD lights have that superior led system, weather resistance, and lifespan? I’m not opposed to the price if the product warrants it.

We would suggest taking a look at the Vega Series. Available in a 2 and 4 configuration. These lights produce a ton of light and affordable. They come standard with a blackout cover. Yellow or amber covers can be added to give better visibility in foggy, rainy, or snowy conditions.
