Rancho's 2" sport lift's instructions include this under "Important Notes":

H. Apply a drop of thread locking compound to all bolts during
installation. CAUTION: Thread locking compound may
irritate sensitive skin. Read warning label on container before use.

Under "Tools and Supplies", it specifies red LocTite.

I think this is a good idea, just wonder how many have used a thread locking compound on their lifts?

Did the lift manufacturer recommend a thread locking compound?

I use blue on every thread outside except for wheel lugs, doors, wipers, and fill/drain plugs.

I've always found it true in my brain to do the things that make common sense regardless of how many others do or do not.

If you use red Loctite on all your suspension fasteners and torque them to spec you’re going to be doing a lot of cursing at the Rancho folks when you have to inevitably remove those fasteners later for whatever reason.

To answer your last question, neither MetalCloak nor Dynatrac recommend Loctite at all in their instructions. Those are the ones I’m familiar with.

I was thinking blue LocTite would be a better option.

In Most applications a properly torqued fastener does not require thread locker, how ever I find control arm bolts and brackets to be one of the many exceptions. Teraflex does call out the use of thread locking compound when installing one of their kits.

I used blue thread locker on everything except the driveshaft bolts, those got the red stuff.
