Life after 4xe... Seeking Input from Converts

As a 4xe owner I can’t stand the noise of the 2.0, and I like to keep my Jeep topless and sometimes doorless. I would probably go with the 3.6 and get used to it feeling sluggish. I could stand to slow down a bit.

4xe seems to be running well, but I am still working on ditching it.

Had my arbitration meeting the other day. Not sure how much I should divulge, but it was pretty amazing...
The FCA rep was defiant and said over and over that they never violated the terms of the warranty, and that there is no basis for buy back. (45 days in the shop for non-recall work says otherwise.)
They also said "you said at 6k miles you went on a camping trip, and the water pump started leaking. This likely happened due to off road driving and abuse. "The jeep wrangler is not an ATV. It is an on-road vehicle."

I was dumbfounded. They're blaming me for shitty quality. I was like... then why does EVERY BIT OF ADVERTISING SHOW THESE OFFROAD. He response was "I am not an engineer and I do not know what the wrangler is designed to do."

...talk about phoning it in.

Depending on how the arbitrator decides, I may pursue the legal avenue, and ditch the thing (they told me I have a great case) and then replace it with a 2026 Rubicon X, for the 4.56 gears, factory 35's... and go simple with the 3.6.

I have 10 payments left on my Wrangler 4xe lease. I'm way under the miles because it was out of service for so long and I don't trust it enough to take it on any real trips. I'll be turning it back in when the lease is over. My last Wrangler was a 2.0T e-Torque.

My wife's Grand Cherokee 4xe has been in the shop for 3.5 months now. No diagnosis yet. They gave her a Compass to drive for the first 3 months. They swapped her into a 2026 Wrangler Sport a few weeks ago because the Compass needed an oil change and the registration was about to expire. I drove it a few times and don't think I could go back into a regular 2.0T. It feels really underpowered after driving a 4xe. I've never driven a 3.6 or 392.

I'm still undecided on what to get next. I haven't test driven anything other than a Jeep for a long time now. Not even sure what I would look at. But it's going to be the first time in a long time that I actually explore other options.

It's tough, I think the 4xe is a great idea, and if it had less problems, I would for sure keep it, especially with the warranty. I just don't know.

I am enjoying the ev side of things... especially when we have number like this. I laugh when I hear people complaining abut 4/gal gas.

Humboldt CA is 300 miles north of SF and historically "behind the redwood curtain." Transportation prices are high.

Have the plug in makes my daily commute much cheaper.

Update. My arbitration for a buy back was denied. No surprise. Especially when the jeep rep said the "wrangler is not an ATV... it is an on road vehicle" and they tried to blame me for a water pump leak at 6k.

In the process with Sinarez law to pursue buy back. Cash and keep is on the table, but I am leaning toward full buy back, and going for a 25 or 26 rubicon x with the 3.6. I know a lot of people have had good luck with the 2.0T but mine has been a leaky mess.

Decisions, decisions.

Only in California. Most of the rest of the country enjoys lower prices; just dipped below $4 in my neck of the woods and still going down as I’ve seen as of Friday oil down to around $88 a barrel.

going to have to pile on, I did the lemon law thing, I wanted buyback . I chose the buyout vs buyback because of the wait to get to court, lawyer was really good, told me it would be well over a year to get to court. Plus, returning it means 100% stock, which would add thousands to my cost. Every mile you put on it adds risk of loss due to accident and lower amount of return.

Mopar knows this, so they push buyout. Buyout never shows up on the vin. The buyout still took 6 months. The buyout had them give me a check to go away and keep the jeep, BUT, big BUT, I could never use the lemon law for anything else with that vin, ever. So it was an albatross to me, and the day I got the buyout check, was the last day I owned the lemon. I bought a new one, it's been great. Pro tip, leave a note in a seatback pocket of all the problems you had when you trade it in...
