I'll probably go with the C, if I go with the KO2. @Tintop, I will definetly check out the ST Maxx. I've been intrigued by that tire. The questions I'll have will be, will the sidewalls be as tough as the BFG? I've had many BFG's, including KO's, KM's, and KM2's, and the sidewalls are darned near bullet proof.
I don’t have direct experience with the coopers, but friends run them. If you were happy with BFG sidewalls, then the coopers should be fine. Until the KO2s, BFGs had a reputation of weak sidewalls. IIRC, the Coopers are tougher. Either sidewalk probably be tougher in higher load ratings. D-rating is probably ideal for a loaded JLU.

Just going to leave this temptation here: You can get the KO2 in D In 37. That’s what I’m going with.

Haha. Through modding a handful of trucks, I’ve learned to always go that half size bigger than your rational brain wants. Otherwise you end up buying bigger tires or. Bigger lift in 6 months and wasting even more time and money. I’m wishing I’d taken my own advice with my JKUR and gone with the 37s. Same weight as the 35s.

Nitto Mud Grapplers for me. I have them on my JKU and will buy another set for my JL. Work great in snow, rocks and sand. I say sand because we drive ours a lot on the beach.

If you love those tires then I totally get it, and I am a fan of the KO/KM series tires as well, but why limit yourself to 3 LT tire choices when the tire world is huge?

General Grabber X3s (I run these and love them, gave $270 per for the 315/70/17 variety)
Goodyear MTRs
Dick Cepek Fun Country or Extreme Country
Nitto Mud/Terra Grapps
Maxxis Trepadors
Pro Comp M/T 2s or A/T Sports
Mickey Thompson Deegans (A/T or M/T..awesome tires) for the M/T they are 37x12.50x17 is $340~ish 315x70x17 is $250~ish

I have ran the BFG KM2s, original KOs (not the KO2 but similar) Grabber X3s, MTR Kevalrs, Nitto Mud Grapps, Trepadors, and the pro comps.

Grabber X3s I have 10000 on currently and have been amazing. They have road manners like A/Ts but lookand perform like good M/Ts.
The KM2s are great all around
Trepadors are great off road, and usually cheap, but tend to wear decently faster than most
MTRs are incredible but wear funny if not meticuously maintained (balanced, and front end alignment)
Mud Grapplers are great....but heavy as a :swear: and the sidewalls are excessively chunky. They are extremely noisy if thats any concern for you
Terra Grapplers are meh
Pro Comp M/T2s were great tires on and off road, wore nicely too
Pro Comp A/Ts were meh at best
BFG KOs are good on road, did not get a chance to get them off road too much other than gravel and dirt but they seemed good. Every truck in america has them so its kinda meh.

I've had too many wear issues with BFG KMs. I used to love BFG but after my last two sets cupping and wearing poorly..no more. I wasted so much time thinking it was a suspension issue and the whole time it was the fact that they would just never stay in balance. Nittos or Toyos for me. They wear great, but more importantly, Nitto Trail Grapplers will go 65,000 miles...

Toyo's are great. They're just too heavy for me. The KO2 fixed a lot of the rubber issues with BFG. My BFG MT KMs and KOs chipped and ripped like crazy. I haven't had that issue with the KO2 yet. And they've seen a lot more boulders and miles.

My BFGs, including KM's, KO's, and KO2's, have all worn extremely evenly and lasted a long, long, time. Then again, I rotate every 3k to 5k, and balance them every time, too.

Any clue when the KM3 will be out? I may wait for that one, too.

Any reason the KO2 in 35/12.5/17 are not an option .... or did I miss the post about that?

I have ran that size factory rims for the entire life of my JKU with zero issues. I say if your going to go 35s go true 35s. :P

Diameter of those tires are 34.5" while 315/70/17 diameter is 34.4" so not sure what you mean by true 35s?

They are close to the same, but 315's I believe are usually very slightly smaller, and I mean slightly. That may not always be the case, though. Also, I've found 315's to have more options for 7.5" rims than 35x12.5's. It is also because I've found what I would consider in the 315. Your mileage may vary, though.

Sometimes you can't get true 35's. I'm putting Cooper STT Pro's on and the best I can do on a 17" wheel is 315/70...close enough...

Nitto Trail Grapplers Here. If I stay with the 18" wheel the 287/75R18 is just over 35. I am strongly considering a Rubi which with the 17" woudl only get to 34" with the same size. I like tall and narrow for winters up here.

Might have to move the 18" 70th anniversary rims off my 12 Sahara to the new Rubi.

BTW, I have 84,000 miles on the current set of 275/70R18 with over just under 50% of the tread left.
