Hi everyone!

Any of you use Jscan to change ratio, tire size or even get rid of the annoying 3 honk when you leave with your keys? I've got the license, I've got the right stuff, and I'm still not able to change things. Is there some kind of post process. For example, first tried with the 3 honk setting, it had 3 options for it to be "active" or "deactivated", turned all three to "deactivated" and turned the vehicle form RUN to OFF, did that a few times, unplugged, and still there. Anyone had success turning that off (for one) with the Jscan setup?

Thank you in advance! Peace.

I haven't used JScan, but Tazer has a two step procedure to lock in changes. A reboot and two "sleep cycles". A sleep cycle is cycling from run to off, closing the door and waiting for the dash to sleep. Then open the door, put it in run and repeat the process.

Thank you! Yeah read that about Tazer, I might try that and see. I sort of partially did the sleep cycle three times, but never waited for the dash to go off before continuing. That said, I wonder if jScan had a reboot option since not sure how I would do that nor done it. I'll look into reboot as well.

Do you have the security bypass cable plugged in? Otherwise it's read-only.
Yeah, red cable, with two outs, plug into the two plugs you unplug from the module? Yup, got it. So I must be missing a step or two after I make the successful changes like a reboot or cycle of something.

Hmm, I was able to write some changes, don't remember how I did it. I didn't know you could get rid of the 3 beeps in there.
What I changed and it stayed: fog lights as running lights, rear windows don't roll down auto, hood open - horn goes off, seat belt alert, and I feel like I'm missing something else but now I want to revisit and look around some more - those 3 beeps, ugh.

Good luck! :) I'll try again with doing the cycle stuff to see if maybe I did it too quick. I noticed on JScan website it states a lot that after each change, you should turn off the vehicle, close the door and leave it for 5 minutes, before returning and turning it on to test the changes. Maybe that is what I'm missing.

I use Jscan, I wasn't able to disable the 3 horn beeps either. I bought a $20 seat belt extender to avoid the 3 horn beeps. Tire size, tpms, everything else was very easy.

@THAW does the JSCAN solve the kill 3 honk or is this a Tazer only thing.
I've not attempted to disable the 3 honks with JScan. I think I remember reading it doesn't work.

@Cat|3bones, disconnect and reconnect JScan then read the values for the settings you're attempting to change and you'll be able to tell if they're sticking.

Maybe I’m remembering a post from @Rhinebeck01 regarding the JSCAN and kill 3 honk

He provided a lot of good advice about both Tazer and JScan, and advocated using them both, each for their best features - a smart recommendation I took, and second.

I know I've read a lot of posts about the JScan implementation of ESS-disable being inferior to Tazer because the Tazer does it in real-time after vehicle startup. And, there are posts about how Tazer Kill3Honk is also a Live Setting (that works by intercepting CAN bus data) so it's not clear how JScan could accomplish it purely through static factory module settings.

[It's worth noting Tazer Kill3Honk is a little finicky, and only works on the driver front door.]

Same experience here. I can't get the three horn honks off. But I did use JScan to great results with my tire size, PSI adjustment, as well as the fog-light drop out with high beams.

Following because I hate the honk thing!

I think I'm going to bite and get the tazer from my regear funds after I get the 37s with 3.5 lift.

I’ve changed my tire size and remember I did something wrong and it didn’t save, but found good support on a Facebook group.

I advise you keep this tool in the Jeep for any road trips, so you can pull error codes. My 12v battery stopped charging 1k miles from home and I waited for a dealership to get me codes and replace a battery because the Jeep just wouldn’t start but all accessories worked. With the dash saying there was an issue with the charging system I thought my Jeep was ready to join the few that went up in flames.
