So, I got a flat with my JL 2023 Willys at about 7,400 miles. Question for the group: Do you think it's OK to leave the spare on the Jeep and use the patched tire as the spare from here on out? Or is 7,400 miles of wear on the other three too much to put a new tire on the Jeep?

I'd roll with it, but I don't have a friction type limited slip rear axle. Rotate it to the front if you have a LSD in the rear. I generally do 5K 5-tire rotations, so 2400 miles isn't all that much more unless your tires are wearing funny.

Thanks. That's helpful. I'll move the new one to the front. The Willys has the LSD, I believe.

7500 miles is about the interval I use for "five tire" rotation, including the spare. So yeah, I think it's OK to leave it in use.

I've engaged in conversations with folks about diff wear when running entirely differen tire sizes e.g. 33" spare when the other tires are upped to 35"

A couple of 32nds of wear isn't worthy of consideration.

Don't overthink it.

And you should be rotating that spare with the rest to get the most life out of them. otherwise that spare will always be new and nothing more than an expensive accessory that never gets used and when it does, you'll be back here asking about running it when the other tires are even more worn.

Not sure now that it's patched

No issues with keeping the spare on. Just as said above if you use the spare tire in the rotation pattern you could easily have one tire with that much less miles than the others. 7,400 miles of wear is not going to cause an issue with the LSD.
