Update: I last posted on 7/22/21 that my dealer agreed that my seat issue should be covered under warranty and that they'd order a new seat cover. Fast forward two months to today. After countless phone calls and escalations thru normal "customer support", and then "Jeep Waves" customer support, Stellantis refuses to approve the claim and refuses to escalate. I'm completely fed up with Stellantis and their lack of customer support.

Rejection reason from Stellantis: "appears to be the result of an outside influence". No shit you idiots! Great work Stellantis. Why don't you just change that politically correct response to what you really mean: "We've already got your money. Screw you. It's a Jeep thing."

My beef is EVERYONE I've talked to (multiple service advisors and the service manager at the dealership, multiple Jeep Wave representatives and even the Jeep Wave supervisor), all agree with me that the issue appears to be a defect. However, everyone says "the process" won't allow them to escalate further ... and the mythical warranty claim rejector/coward(s) that hide behind a black curtain makes the final decision and once the decision is made, Stellantis makes sure no one can reach them to dispute the rejection, ask for an explanation/clarification, or escalate.

Refresher: the "defect" in my seat showed up within one month of ownership and is confined to a single "panel" of the driver seat. (See picture in post #1). The defect is random (not a dirty handprint, etc. that one poster alluded to) and goes all the way to, and stops at, the stitching of adjacent panels. Even if the issue was sweat, sunscreen, or who knows what, how would it magically stop at the stitching (in multiple locations)??? It makes no sense. I guess since it makes no sense, that's the rational Stellantis is using to reject the claim? "If it can't be explained, then we're not responsible for it." I don't know....because they won't tell me. BTW - I know for a fact that it's not sweat, sunscreen, or any other "outside influence" that came from me. I'm an OCD neat freak and keep my vehicles immaculate. The ONLY thing that's touched my seats (other than me) was Lexol leather cleaner/conditioner (day 2 of ownership)...and I applied it to every piece of leather (or whatever else is claimed to be leather these days) and no where else has this "defect" surfaced.

@JeepCares - don't bother responding to this thread with the generic "I'm sorry to hear about the problem ... PM us with your VIN if you'd like for us to assist further." If you really want to assist, get me in touch with the rejection team behind the black curtain, or get this post in front of someone at Stellantis that can actually stand up and fix a wrong instead of pulling the party line of "we're following process" and "unfortunately nothing more I can do", and "unfortunately, there's no one else you can talk to". All BS responses.

Any updates on if the spots were fixed/cleaned? I have the exact same issue with my 2020 rubicon with 3500 miles on it. It is showing up on the drivers seat bottom. About 5 quarter sized shiny spots. I haven’t found anything to remove these spots or make them look matte like the rest of the seat.

Unfortunately, there’s been no change in my issue. The spots are still there, on the single panel, and have not shown up anywhere else. I only use damp clothes and/or Mopar all purpose cleaner to clean my seats and the spots haven’t gotten any better or any worse. They still bug the hell out of me though. Someone else PM’ed me a month or so ago and had the same issue. The only difference was their spots were on a different section of their passenger seat bottom. Their issue was also isolated to a single panel of their seat. Post a pic of your issue if you don’t mind.

The problem isn’t that the leather is dirty. It’s a defect in the material. Some sort of reaction is causing individual sections of leather seats to mess up. It’s not just me, and doesn’t seem to be widespread.

I will get a picture after work. I agree, the leather is not dirty at all. It’s like the factory clear coat coating on the leather has came off in spots

Here is the picture of my seat
Wow! I’d say that’s the same exact issue that I have. Random and various levels of discoloration … confined to a single section of leather. Are you going to file a warranty claim? Stellantis rejected my claim and refused to escalate, but if everyone who has this issue files a claim, Stellantis may wake up and realized they have a real defect.

My suspicion is something is getting on the leather prior to it being cut and stitched together, and it takes a few months for that something to react and cause the defect to show up. That’s why it’s confined to individual sections and why it doesn’t show up until a few weeks/months after taking delivery. And if it’s truly an uncommon issue, Stellantis will do absolutely nothing to investigate or resolve.

Here’s a photo of the defect that another forum member PM’d me. A little more subtle, but same issue … single panel, random and varying levels of discoloration.

I don't have a pic but when I originally picked my Jeep up I noticed a few spots very similar to the photo above on the edge of the passenger seat. Not that it's great but I repeatedly used Chem Bros leather cleaner and eventually those spots disappeared. I was under the impression it was from standing water thinking maybe the dealer had the Jeep outside on display with the top off but I'm not certain.

Instead of getting more of the same, this is a perfect time to make an upgrade and get yourself some better looking leather seat covers:
