Can anyone add any insight based on first hand experience?

My vehicle is leased from Chrysler Capital and I was wondering if I were to change the stock tires (245/75R17's) that came on my JL Sport to 255/75R17 KO2's, if at the end of my lease terms, would the stock tires need to go back on? Note that I would only be changing the tires not the rims.

I see that the Chrysler Capital says this in their lease guide:

"Tire type, size and brand must match and comply with manufacturer’s recommendations"

This change would give me a bit more of an aggressive tire. Other than that it might not even be that noticeable... But would the lease inspector care/know?

If you have the room to store the tires I would keep them and put them back on at lease end. If you are going to lease another Jeep most likely the dealer is going to buy it at the end of your lease and you wouldn't really be turning it back into the lease company.

The dealer would not care what tires are on it if they are doing a dealer buyout instead of you turning it into the leasing company. I've leased most of my vehicles and so far I have not had to turn one back into the lease company the dealer normally buys the vehicle outright and your basically trading it in. I should note that I've never kept a lease until the end of the contact normally due to being over mileage......

I just stored my original tires and will put them back on at the end of the lease, that way I don't have to worry about having to replace any tires due to wear at the end of the lease. I just turned a Range Rover lease in and had to replace 2 tires due to tread depth and if you don't do it yourself you will be charged dealer cost and rates on the tires can you say $$$$$.
The way I looked at it was odds are pretty good I'd have to replace tires to turn in anyway so mine as well get something fun and put the originals back on at the end. Gonna spend the money one way or another

You can’t probably pick up some cheap sport takeoffs on the forum at lease return time too.

Don’t worry be happy.
