Lease and Mileage

Ok, so I'm thinking about leasing my JL. Currently just driving my company car, and everything's covered. Even gas, thank god. However, I'm interviewing for a fully remote position so this may be pushing my hand to get my own vehicle.

... Hence, thinking financially about a Lease. I've got no trade-in, and coming up with the thousands for a down payment to purchase outright is going to be tight. Fiddling around with numbers to see what would work for me.

Those of you that lease, how much mileage do y'all usually get on your lease?

I usually get 12k miles annually if I can, though my current lease is 7,500 miles because that was the stipulation on this particular amazing lease deal. I'll either buy it at the end or trade it for something else before I hit the end of my mileage. It's really no biggie.

If you plan to buy out the lease at the end, I always go for whatever mileage gives the best monthly payment and not worry about the miles. Otherwise, if you plan to turn it in at the end of the lease, go with the mileage that matches your driving habits and responsibilities.

oh I'll probably be putting money down either way. if i can put my hands on a 25 the dealer is looking to get rid of, i can negotiate the MSRP down and get a low payment. Found a 25 Willys XR for just over $45K
