I think I have this same issue. But I have an 2024 automatic 2dr rubicon 3.6L. It’s very similar to the LSD issue but from my understanding, this doesn’t happen with lockers. My noise is definitely in the rear. The only mods I did is a 2.5” AEV dualsport lift and revolution 4:88 re-gear. I hear a loud clunk when I take my foot off the gas. And again when I tap the gas. Also get 3 clunks when i brake or coast and it gets down to 4th/3rd gear. No clunk when Accelerating from a stop and the jeep shifts up beautifully. As long as I keep my foot on the gas. Once I’m in stop and go traffic or driving through residential areas, it’s a nightmare. Feels really bad like damage is being done. Not a normal sound. Dealership says is the lift. The instal shop says it’s the transmission. Everyone’s pointing fingers but no one wants to do the work. Shop agreed to review every bolt they turned next week. I’m hoping someone here can help in the meantime. Here’s a link to a 360 video I made.

Had same issue. Rear axle. They changed bearings and couple other parts inside.

Not lift related.

Considering it’s throttle based noise I would suspect the pinion bearing but that got upgraded with the re-gear. Would you know hat bearings might be the issue ? Sorry. I don’t know as much as I’d like to.

Have your shop check backlash. This sounds excessively high. Factory is 0.003 - 0.007” (w/ spicer gears) if yours is too much above this I’d try to get it within this range. This of course depends on what gears were put in and what their manual states for recommended backlash.

Thanks. I really you’re right and this is the case because the shop is gonna recheck their work next week. I’ll update this regardless. Thanks.

They changed sides and pinion bearings.
Also adjusted cruch sleeve and diff backlash with new shims (was loose).

Thanks. I’ll bring these possibilities up. And I hope you’re right. If one of these is the case, I just hope the shop is honest enough to admit that it could have been done wrong. I’ve noticed Pride is kind of an issue among mechanics.

It is starting to get more often, but I sometimes hear a clunk when I press the gas pedal. Usually only happens after driving and then stopping. not all the time though. weird. clunk. dealer says everything is in specs.
