Did another search on this, and didn't see anything else aside from my original thread (https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/2021-jlurd-diesel-overflow-leak.83612/) on the topic.
So just when i thought i had the original problems sorted on this topic - here we go again.
As we continue to grind through the evolving weather patterns here in AZ (i.e. 30 + days of 110 degree weather, with another 30 of 100+) a new interesting and unwanted behavior is coming up again on the rig.
I am seeing similar issues here with the new tank, wondering if others are seeing the same?
Context
Tank is down any amount
Weather is 100 degrees plus
Rig may be parked outside or in our AC controlled garage
Symptom
Go to put diesel into tank, and the filler clicks off immediately as if tank is full
Workaround (which is the same thing i had to do before the tank was replaced)
Pull filler nozzle out most of the way, fill manually very slowly - cannot use the auto fill option / lock tabs
My uneducated observation here is that somehow this is workaround letting air and(or) pressure out of the tank that the high temperatures here are causing.
I wonder aloud if the Jeep/FCA engineers modeled a scenario where the rig gets to 130-140 degrees sitting outside, then is operated in the ~110 degree heat, which dumps even more stress on the vehicle systems.
Is anyone else seeing this on the JLURD, and if so any other ways to address it?
TIA
