Real glass is heavier, and will be more of a concern for storage. Remember with trail grit and such all over the place, whatever the glass might lean against will likely etch scratches into the glass over time. Also if it rests at even a slight angle on a hard edge and gets pressure on it, that could be bad, especially if safety glass. Might cause as many problems as it solves, and be more expensive to replace.I for one would like a JLU with clear untainted glass all around, including a soft top with real glass side and rear windows, and only using clear vinyl for a foldable panoramic sunroof panel/(s). And make it fit in back cargo area, when all folded up around real glass portions.
Hey I like the idea of glass (I avoid even drinking from plastic) but the practical challenges are considerable.
