I recently purchased a new 2020 JLU which has plastic bumpers. It has a plastic front rock guard and a steel frame guard behind it. I'm aware of that some Rubicons have a steel rock guard. Is this a separate option or is it perhaps included if you purchase the Mopar steel bumper option?

It is part of the Mopar steel bumper upgrade. I personally wished I had not gotten the factory steel bumpers. They look good and that's the extent of their usefullness. I've already removed the rear and installed a Poison Spyder brawler and tire carrier combo. On the front I still have the Mopar with a Warn stuffed in it. I will eventually change it too but it lives for now. If you rock crawl you will want real bumpers.

If you are going to swap to the mopar steel front bumper (P/N 82215121AD), you also have to purchase the steel front skid plate (P/N 82215183AB). You will also need to purchase four rivnuts (P/N 6511076AA) because the steel skid plate mounts differently than the plastic one.

We have the factory steel bumper and skid which came installed. When I removed the skid to install the winch plate into the bumper, I found that I actually had to use a crow bar to align the factory holes to the skid. Not the best of fit up for a factory installed item.

Some winch plates push the bumper out a little bit so you have to expand the holes on the skid plate.

For the factory plastic front bumper, the M.O.R.E. front skid plate can be used. I just put it on my 19 JLUR. It's a very easy install (took longer to remove the factory plastic shield/thin steel skid) than to bolt on the M.O.R.E. unit. It's also thicker than the steel bumper skid plate.

If you ever move to the Jeep steel bumper, it should still work. This skid will not work if your Jeep came with the steel bumper group. The frame ends are different. I originally tried installing it on my 18 JLUR with steel bumper group and it did not fit.
